Fascinating Facts

A Zap Cat has a better power-to-weight ratio than a Ferrari Testarossa. The unique fully inflated catamaran design enables the Zap Cat to reach extreme speeds and it can out-manoeuvre almost any other waterborne craft, pulling a 'G' in the tightest of corners. All of this performance can be handled on and off the water by just two people, as a complete Zap Cat including 50hp engine and accessories weighs just under 150kg. But then Zap Cats are built for racing, with a tough aluminium transom, composite spoiler and inflatable tubes manufactured from the highest quality European PVC fabric. They are also highly suited to cope with all sea conditions from flat calm lakes to large surf. Recently Grand Prix racing driver Olivier Panis tried out a Zap Cat. He was very impressed saying, 'I know boats really well but this took my breath away. It was so fast and agile. The power-to-weight ratio is incredible - not much less than an F1 car and it was a lot of fun. I don't know if I'd like to race these but to experience the acceleration and speed was great. 50 knots in a boat this size feels like 300km/h in a car. This is the first time I've tried the Zap Cat and they are great fun. Everyone should try it once!'
