The experience
This totally unique experience allows you to experience the sheer exhilaration of skydiving in a specially constructed wind tunnel, the likes of which are usually used to test the aerodynamics of F1 racing cars! After all the necessary training you will step into the airflow and taste the thrill of freefall in a totally safe and controlled environment, and what’s more, it’s suitable for almost anyone from age 5 so even the kids can have a go.

This is something everyone should try. A great experience!! If you can fit one of our helmets, and are in reasonable health and fitness, you can fly! After check-in there’s a short class with a video brief and instruction, then it’s off to collect your flight gear.

You and your group will enter the tunnel and take it in turns to fly. You each get 2 flights, that’s about the same as three tandem skydives. In your first flights you will learn the basic freefall position. In your second you can possibly even try some body flying manouvres...

Vital information
Minimum age is 5. Under 18s need written parental consent. Maximum weight is 18 stone. Body flying is suitable for anyone of reasonable fitness, including people with disabilities. Make sure to arrive at the venue one hour before the start time of your experience!! This is when you will be flying. Before that you will need to check in, complete the statement of risk and then attend class and change into the flight gear, which takes about 30 minutes.

Session length
Expect to be at the venue for over an hour, including a 20 minute safety briefing, kit issue (15 minutes), 2 one-minute body flying sessions and a full debrief.

Spectators
Facilities are excellent and make for a good family day out. Two spectators can watch the body flying in action in the viewing room at any one time.

Fascinating Facts

The history of skydiving began with a descent from a balloon by André-Jacques Garnerin in 1797. Skydiving has been used by the military since the early 1900s, including use in World War I and World War II. Early competitions date back to the 1930s, and it became an international sport in 1951.

"The noise is overwhelming, the wind is blowing so hard that my cheeks are beginning to shake and I’m so terrified I can barely see straight, let alone follow my instructor’s hand signals. I cross my arms over my chest and allow myself to fall forward on to the mesh. Just before I hit the floor, an overpowering 100mph stream of air whacks me off my feet. I’m flying."
